G. V. Prakash Kumar was signed to compose music for this film and collaborated with Atlee after the success of their previous album, movie Raja Rani (2013) features Arya,nayantara. Theri  was the fiftieth film to music director Prakash had signed, and with Atlee, recently he went to Goa in March 2015 for a music composing session. Uthara Unnikrishnan and Deva recorded songs for this movie, while Vijayand and Neeti Mohan also recorded a song for this movie.
